Well, the holiday season for 2010 is almost over. Christmas was nice. We went out to Kevin's house for a Christmas morning breakfast. The men cooked, which was a nice treat! (And, yes, Kevin, we still liked your biscuits.) The kids were happy and talkative, smiling, giggling, acting silly. The rest of the day, after we got home, was rather quiet, but we were able to laze around and rest. This month has been so very busy that we probably needed that rest more than we realized.
We had to switch to a live tree this year. We had our artificial tree set up, the lights had been added, and the angel was on top. We were tired so I was going to put the ornaments on the next night. Before I could, we discovered that Cherokee (our youngest cat, who is 4 years old) decided to start eating the tree! Yes, literally eating the branches of the tree. Well, needless to say, we took the tree down. Couldn't take a chance on those sharp needles hurting her tummy. So, we decided to go for a live tree. We haven't seen her eating it, although she does like to brush against it and knock off an ornament here and there. She's our little wild thing and we love her. We liked having a live tree, so we'll probably get one every year now.
This year has gone by so fast. It doesn't seem like it should already be ending. I'm looking forward to this year. I have a feeling it's going to be great!
