In loving memory of my brother-n-law
Last year, we received a phone call from my sister that rocked our little world. Her husband Steve was taken to the emergency room. Little did we know as we were driving to the hospital what we would find or what the next day would hold. Steve didn't survive the major stroke he had that morning. While we don't know why the Lord decided to take him so young (he was 45), we know that there was a reason. This is a tribute to Steve, who is in heaven today.
While here on earth, Steve....
...was a christian. He made that all-important decision to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
...had a very strong work ethic. Steve didn't mind working, whether it was mental or physical labor. He got the job done, and worked hard to provide for his family.
...had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh, and just had a knack for making those around him smile and laugh. He liked to kid around, and with that great smile of his, people just had to smile back at him.
...liked to hunt. He went deer-hunting and turkey-hunting.
...was a loyal employee of UPS for many years!
...loved to learn new things. He took a Portugese class at church, which (I'm thinking) would be a hard language to learn. But, week after week, I saw him studying his notes as we were eating dinner, and then off he went to the class.
...loved his family.
...was outspoken. Yes, Steve could be quite the outspoken person! Sometimes, that was good and sometimes that was not so good, but all in all, he stood up for what he believed in and wasn't afraid to share his opinion.
...could look at situations and problems, and come up with a solution. He was good at that because he was analytical, had common sense, and was able to look at situations from different perspectives.
...had a generous heart.
...loved my sister.
Happy 1 year anniversary of going home to heaven, Steve. You are loved and missed.
